Kannada Actress and former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Divya Suresh has alleged that she and her cousin were harassed by an unidentified man while walking to their car late on Sunday night in Bengaluru. Sharing her experience on social media, the actor described the incident as traumatic and questioned the safety of women in the city.According to Divya Suresh, the incident occurred at around 11.30 pm when she and her cousin were returning to their vehicle. In a post shared on her Instagram Story, she claimed that an unidentified man began following them and making obscene gestures.“Tonight, my cousin and I were walking to our car at around 11.30 pm when a man started following us. While following us, he was openly touching himself. We noticed it immediately and called him out, but he still didn’t stop. He continued until we got into our car,” she wrote.

The actor said that no woman should have to endure harassment simply because she is walking at night. Tagging Bengaluru Police in her post, she questioned the assurances of public safety, asking, “Where is the safety we keep being promised?”Divya also shared a video of the alleged incident on her Instagram Story, which was later removed after the story expired. In the video, she can be heard saying that she is recording the incident, while her cousin points towards the man, asking her to look at his actions. Divya further states that the individual continued following them until they got into their car, after which her cousin urged her to contact the police.The actor’s account has reignited conversations around women’s safety in Bengaluru, particularly concerning incidents of harassment in public spaces during late hours. As of now, there has been no official statement from Bengaluru Police regarding the alleged incident.Divya Suresh rose to prominence after participating in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8, hosted by actor Kiccha Sudeepa in 2021. She is also known for her performances in Kannada television serials Nanna Hendthi MBBS and Jodi Hakki. A former model, she won the Miss India South title in 2017 before making her film debut with #9, Hilton Cross. Her other film credits include Rowdy Baby, Kempu Haladi Hasiru, and Hiranya.Separately, in 2025, Divya Suresh was identified by police as the alleged driver of a car involved in a late-night hit-and-run accident in Bengaluru that left three people injured. Authorities said she was identified through CCTV footage, and the vehicle involved was seized as part of the investigation. The case remains subject to legal proceedings.
