NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds across several parts of the country on Wednesday as the southwest monsoon remains active over large parts of India.Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra, while several northern, central and eastern states are expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. Rain or thundershowers are likely towards the afternoon or evening, and the IMD has issued a heavy rain warning for the city.Bengaluru: The IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with light rain over Bengaluru on Wednesday. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue during the following days, with no weather warning currently in force for the city.Chennai: Chennai is expected to witness isolated rainfall activity under prevailing monsoon conditions. While widespread rain is not forecast, the weather is likely to remain generally stable with light rain possible at isolated places.Hyderabad: Hyderabad is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle on Wednesday.
