JHANSI: Books by renowned Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky and Iranian-American author Marjan Kamali were among the personal belongings recovered from the mangled car of Aaban Ahmed, the youngest son of slain gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed, after he was killed in a road accident on the Jhansi-Kanpur highway.Police clarified that the books had no connection with the investigation into the crash and were recovered as part of Aaban’s personal effects.Among the books found in the car were works by Fyodor Dostoevsky, whose writings are widely known for exploring themes such as crime, guilt, morality, human psychology and philosophical conflict.Police also recovered a novel by Marjan Kamali, set against the backdrop of the 1953 political upheaval and coup in Tehran, Iran.Their recovery has generated considerable discussion on social media, with many speculating about Ali’s interest in literature dealing with psychology, crime and political history while serving his jail term.Aaban was killed after his car met with a serious accident in the Poonch police station area shortly after entering Jhansi district on Thursday morning. He was reportedly on his way to meet his brother in jail when the accident occurred.Circle Officer Moth Sunil Kumar Sharma said that a couple of books were recovered along with other personal belongings of Aaban and his friends from the mangled car, which have been taken by the forensic team.Meanwhile, sources revealed that, according to the postmortem report, Aaban sustained around two dozen injuries in the crash. His liver, lungs and spleen were severely damaged, resulting in excessive internal bleeding that led to his death.His associate, Sonu, suffered a major head fracture and fractures in both hands. The postmortem was conducted by a panel of three doctors on Thursday night, after which the bodies were handed over to their family members.
