OpenAI chief revenue officer Denise Dresser is stepping down after less than a year with the ChatGPT-maker, adding to a wave of high-profile leadership departures as the firm prepares for an anticipated initial public offering (IPO). OpenAI said that Dresser is leaving to “pursue other opportunities.” To fill the vacancy, the company has appointed Dali Rajic, former President and Chief Operating Officer of cybersecurity firm Wiz, as its new Chief Revenue Officer, as per a report by CNBC.Dresser confirmed her resignation in a post on LinkedIn, expressing gratitude for her time leading the company’s enterprise expansion.“Sharing the note I sent to the team today. I’m incredibly proud of all we’ve accomplished together and deeply grateful to the extraordinary people and customers who made this chapter so meaningful. I’m excited for what lies ahead and will be cheering this remarkable team on every step of the way,” she said in a post on LinkedIn.

OpenAI sees high-stakes departure ahead of IPO
Dresser’s resignation arrives at a critical operational moment for OpenAI. The company confidentially filed its IPO prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission in June, following a funding round that valued the startup at $852 billion. Hired in December after more than a decade as an executive at Salesforce, Dresser was tasked with accelerating OpenAI’s commercial revenue and competing against chief rival Anthropic for lucrative corporate contracts.Dresser is the second top executive to exit OpenAI this week, following Brad Lightcap’s announcement that he was departing the company to launch a new venture. The recent string of high-level exits includes Fidji Simo, the former product and business chief who stepped down last month due to health recovery.Brad Lightcap, who served as COO, an eight-year OpenAI veteran, announced his resignation on Tuesday. Three senior executives, including former head of the Sora video division Bill Peebles, departed the company in April.
