BENGALURU: Ananth Technologies and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have signed an MoU to jointly develop and manufacture advanced electronic systems for defence and aerospace applications, in a move aimed at expanding indigenous capabilities in strategic technologies.The partnership will explore opportunities to develop systems and subsystems for missiles, radars, satellites and navigation systems, the companies said on Wednesday.Under the agreement, the two companies will work across the technology chain, including design and development, system engineering, electronics manufacturing, integration, testing and production.The collaboration brings together the complementary capabilities of the two companies. BEL, a Navratna public sector undertaking under the defence ministry, has extensive experience in developing and manufacturing electronic systems for the armed forces. Ananth Technologies, which has more than three decades of experience, works on aerospace and defence electronics, satellite systems, launch vehicle avionics, navigation technologies and advanced manufacturing.

Ananth Technologies managing director Anurup Pavuluri said the partnership would focus on indigenous design and development as well as manufacturing and integration for current and future strategic programmes.The agreement comes as India seeks to expand domestic manufacturing of sophisticated defence and aerospace systems and reduce reliance on imported technologies. The companies said their collaboration would contribute to strengthening the country’s aerospace and defence industrial ecosystem.Ananth Technologies has capabilities spanning satellite systems, missile electronics, navigation systems, radio-frequency and seeker technologies, aerospace electronics manufacturing and system integration. It works with India’s space and defence establishments on strategic programmes.BEL manufactures electronic systems for the Army, Navy and Air Force and has also expanded into areas including space electronics, satellite integration, cyber security, railways and metro systems, and homeland security.
