Spring onions are a favourite among home gardeners because they regrow remarkably well after harvesting. You can trim the green tops as needed while leaving the white base rooted in the soil, allowing fresh shoots to emerge repeatedly. They require very little space, making them perfect for pots, balcony gardens or kitchen windowsills. With regular watering and good sunlight, spring onions continue producing tender green leaves that are ideal for soups, salads and stir-fries.
