HYDERABAD: A 37-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband following a domestic dispute at their residence in Chilkanagar on Friday evening. Police said the accused had allegedly been suspecting his wife’s fidelity for the past few years.According to Uppal sub-inspector Ch Vinay, the deceased was identified as Papithotti Jessica, 37, a nurse. According to the complaint lodged by her younger brother, she had been married to Suresh, 41, since 2015 and had a daughter. Family members told police that the couple had frequent marital disputes but would reconcile and continue living together.Police said Jessica had been staying at Gandhi Hospital since June 28 to care for her ailing mother, who had been admitted there for treatment. The complainant alleged that her husband became suspicious after she spent nights at the hospital. “He suspected her of infidelity and mentally harassed her. They had several fights. But we had not received any police complaints before this. We have not found any complaint history so far,” the SI said. According to police, an argument broke out between the couple at their residence in Adarshnagar in Chilkanagar, around 4pm on July 3. During the altercation, the accused allegedly stabbed Jessica in the chest, left shoulder and left armpit. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.He reportedly called his sister after committing the offense on Saturday morning and then fled the scene, police said. After receiving information about the incident, the complainant rushed to the house and found his sister dead.Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused on Saturday. Further investigation into the incident is underway. Jessica’s body was moved to the Gandhi mortuary for postmortem examination.
