Ravisankar.M of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam won the Thuraiyur constituency with a margin of 9614 votes. He garnered 66263 votes, while All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate E.Saroja came second with 56649 votes.The AIADMK has fielded E. Saroja from Thuraiyur (SC) assembly constituency for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, setting up a contest against TVK candidate Ravisankar.M.Thuraiyur is a Reserved (SC) constituency in the Tiruchirappalli district and falls under the Perambalur Lok Sabha seat.It was created in 2008 following the delimitation process.In the 2021 Assembly elections, DMK’s S. Stalinkumar retained the seat with 87,786 votes, defeating AIADMK’s T. Indragandhi, who secured 65,715 votes. The margin of victory was 22,071 votes.In the 2016 Assembly elections, DMK’s S. Stalinkumar won the seat by securing 80,693 votes, defeating AIADMK’s A. Maivizhi, who received 72,625 votes. The margin of victory stood at 8,068 votes.In the 2011 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s T. Indragandhi won the seat with 75,228 votes, defeating DMK’s S. Parimala Devi, who secured 64,293 votes. The margin of victory was 10,935 votes.
